IITM Pravartak Applied Generative AI Certification Programme

The programme is titled Applied Generative AI for Career and Business Growth. It is a three-month live online IIT Madras Generative AI course that teaches you to use AI on real work: writing and presentations, marketing, career growth, research, data analysis and workflow automation. Sessions are led by IIT Madras faculty and industry mentors.

As an IITM Pravartak Gen AI course, it is open to everyone, from college students to senior leaders, and requires no coding or technical background. You practise on your own assignments, reports or spreadsheets, so every module produces something you can use straight away.

Each live session follows a simple pattern: about 20% demonstration, 60% hands-on practice and 20% review and feedback.

The curriculum has six modules. Each has 3 hours of live teaching, followed by a week to apply the skills to your own work.

Module 1: AI Fluency and Prompt Engineering Foundations

The difference between AI, generative AI and LLMs, and where each tool fits. You learn structured prompting with role, context, task, format and constraints, layered and iterative prompts, and responsible use and verification. You finish with: a personal prompt library.

Module 2: AI-Powered Marketing, Communication and Visual Strategy

AI for content, product descriptions and customer replies, competitor and market research, and presentations and visual assets. You finish with: campaign copy, a customer-reply template and a presentation or visual.

Module 3: AI for Career Acceleration and Personal Branding

Skills-gap assessment, resume and LinkedIn optimisation, interview preparation, appraisal and negotiation support, and career planning. You finish with: a refreshed resume and LinkedIn profile and a short-term career plan.

Module 4: AI for Strategic Research and Insight Generation

AI-driven research workflows, cited real-time search, document summaries, a plain-language introduction to RAG and embeddings, and safeguards for high-stakes decisions. You finish with: a cited research brief on a real question.

Module 5: AI for Business Data Analysis and Growth Metrics

Cleaning data with prompts, conversational analysis of spreadsheets, pivot tables and trends, growth metrics such as revenue, funnels, retention and churn, and charts. You finish with: an analysed dataset with charts and a written insight summary.

Module 6: Agentic AI and Business Workflows

How agents differ from chatbots, agent features in everyday tools, custom GPTs and assistants, and no-code automation. You finish with: a working custom GPT and a mapped automation with impact measures.

The programme stays tool-agnostic where possible and demonstrates 20+ representative tools. The list is updated as the market changes.

Eligibility

There is no eligibility cut-off. You need basic comfort with email and everyday apps, a laptop and an internet connection. No coding or technical background is required, and classes are taught in simple English.

Admission process

1. Register: fill in the enrolment form with your name, mobile number, email, city and state, then share your work experience, what you want AI to help with and how often you use AI tools today.

3. Confirm and onboard: you receive a payment confirmation, a programme advisor calls to confirm your cohort dates, and an onboarding pack arrives before the first session.

Seats per cohort are capped so that sessions stay hands-on.

The programme fee is ₹49,999 + GST.
